The Drive for 25 Blitz is Underway! Here’s How to Donate

Drive for 25 Blitz
TechSideline.com will serve as an ambassador and help raise funds during the 2019 Drive for 25 Blitz (Ivan Morozov)

Virginia Tech’s Drive for 25 Blitz has begun.  This is your chance to make a difference and help Virginia Tech Athletics moved towards their goal of 25,000 Hokie Club members!

The Drive for 25 Blitz is open to anyone, whether you’re currently a Hokie Club member or not. But it’s especially intended for non-Hokie Club members to make the jump and join the Drive for 25.

If you’re ready to donate, then just click here to get started: Drive for 25 Blitz Giving Link

But if you have questions, keep reading.

What is the Drive for 25 Blitz?

The Drive for 25 Blitz is a two-and-a-half-day fundraising event scheduled to run from noon on September 25 through 11:59 PM (EDT) on September 27, 2019, inviting all members of Hokie Nation to join the Drive for 25,000 Hokie Club members.

The goal of the Drive for 25 Blitz is to add new members to the Hokie Club, and to encourage existing Hokie Club members to donate as well.

The Blitz is scheduled to start at noon on Wednesday, September 25 and run through 11:59 PM (EDT) on Friday, September 27, 2019 — two and a half days.

During the Drive for 25 Blitz, you’ll be able to donate either to the Hokie Scholarship Fund, or to make a sport-specific donation.

What Should I (a Virginia Tech Fan) Do?

It’s simple: if you’re not a member of the Hokie Club, join! You can join for as little as $25. That’s all it takes to become a member of the Hokie Club and to be counted in the drive to 25,000 members. Give more if you can afford it, but the bottom line is, if you can afford $25, climb on board!

Even if you don’t buy season tickets, don’t come to games, don’t want a parking spot, or live in Egypt, join!

If you’re already a member of the Hokie Club, then take some time out during the Drive for 25 Blitz to give a little more. You can give to a specific sport, or give to the general Hokie Scholarship Fund, which helps pay for scholarships (a huge expense). There are some really exciting matching opportunities (keep reading below) that can raise a lot of money for Virginia Tech Athletics in just one day.

  1. Donor #130 for TSL. 34 ahead of OX VT. Decided to go for wrestling. Hoping for at least $1 million total donations.

  2. Just gave through the link above, to the scholarship fund. Hopefully, TSL gets the “credit”. 🙂

  3. I’m in Will – VT Wrestling via techsideline ambassador. Keep up the great work – it’s keeping Hokie Nation involved.

Thanks for making it easy to donate, figures it was time to start.
They are missing an opportunity at ball games to make money, they could put up on the scoreboard an offer to text xxxxx to donate $5 to VT scholarship fund, fans are likely to do that when they have had a drink or 2 and are in a good mood after a score or a win.

    1. Yes, serve beer, get a lead and then start flashing it on the scoreboard. At least us “happy drunks” will start making it rain like it is at some . . . umm . . . club.

Donated because of Will and Chris.
Saw the Ambassador leaderboard increase by one for first place Tech Sideline!
    Awesome job gentleman!

  6. I’m already a Golden Hokie but I want to get my three daughters involved in the Hokie Club. All three are or will be graduates of Virginia Tech. I want to donate $ to get them in the Hokie Club hoping that they will continue to be members in the future. I don’t see a way to do this. Any ideas?
