Virginia Tech and the ACC released their 2019-2020 men’s basketball schedules Thursday night. The Hokies open the season on Tuesday, November 5 with a trip to Clemson.
With the advent of the ACC Network, the conference schedule expands to 20 games this year. Last year, with an 18-game conference schedule, Virginia Tech didn’t play any conference games before January. This year, they’ll play two before January: at Clemson on November 5, and Duke on December 6.
Virginia Tech will play 11 non-conference games this year, including the Maui Jim Invitational from November 25 to November 27, where they’ll open with Michigan State, then will face either Georgia or Dayton, plus a third game against an opponent TBD. The Maui Jim Invitational field includes Virginia Tech, Michigan State, Georgia, Dayton, BYU, Kansas, UCLA, and Chaminade.
Virginia Tech does not play in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge this year. The Hokies will play at least nine games on the newly-minted ACC Network, plus eight more games on the ESPN family of networks (with three of those possibly winding up on the ACC Network).
TechSideline.com has integrated the schedule into the site in multiple places and has also added the 2019-20 roster to the site. For the full schedule, check out the table below.

so BB opens on the road with a conference game……FB two years in a row..….WTF?
Appear to be several good home games when students aren’t away for winter break
That’s a tough schedule! Lowering my expectations…
what’s with the RSN games? I thought the ACCN was going to replace those games????
The ACCN can’t cover multiple games in the same time slot. ACCN/ESPN will subcontract excess inventory to Raycom.
Was hoping the ACCN deal had erased the need for that.
MY will have a season to show his coaching skills for sure. I wish him and VT the best.
