1) Can we use Pro Football Focus to track player development progress? I’m really interested in that Pro Football Focus data. Is there a way to use it to assess the returning starters as to which have improved from last year vs which have regressed? I don’t know what all they assess, but it seems there’s a set of performance data there that would lend itself to this kind of assessment by comparing last year’s data to this year’s. My eyeballs, and French’s film breakdown, tells me there’s about 9-10 returning starters who appear to have regressed or not improved. – Baltimore Hokie

Chris Coleman: I think basically what you’re asking is “do we have a player development problem?”  I’ve actually been wondering the same a bit lately.  You use PFF data in many different ways, and there are many different metrics, but the one that is used the most is the simple player grade.
