We’re two games into the season, yet Virginia Tech fans are still trying to figure out this football team. Is this a good team, or are we in for a long season? The road game at Boston College was a good test to see how this team would perform against a well-coached, physical team. BC was almost the perfect opponent to counter Virginia Tech’s vulnerabilities coming off such a disappointing season last year. Although the team lost 35-28, we saw some encouraging signs, but there were far too many frustrating moments.
The Boston College game gave me flashbacks of the 2016 Tennessee game at Bristol Motor Speedway. It was a winnable game that was lost due to costly mistakes and so many turnovers. With that said, I firmly believe if Ryan Willis protects the football better, we are looking at an undefeated 2-0 team. But that’s why we play the games, right?
