Tyree Saunders Commits To Virginia Tech

Tyree Saunders
WR, Class of 2020
First Coast High School, Jacksonville, FL
6-0, 174

Virginia Tech received a verbal commitment from Florida wide receiver Tyree Saunders on Saturday afternoon following the ODU game.  Saunders becomes Tech’s 11th commitment of the 2020 recruiting class.

Saunders, who attends First Coast High School in Jacksonville, had previously been committed to South Florida.  He also held scholarship offers from Kansas State and Iowa State at the Power 5 level.  His commitment has been in the works for some time.

Saunders caught 54 passes for 937 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior in 2018.  He could potentially line up on the outside or in the slot for the Hokies.

  1. Love his speed and ability to keep his feet.

Welcome to Hokie Nation, Tyree. We r a little surly right now but nothing “playing well” can’t fix.

  2. Gotta like a guy whose nickname is “Showtime”!
Interested in what “miss y’all” is about.
    Anybody know?

        1. Havent seen him play a play yet and Burmeister better than any other QB we have?! Don’t bother explaining how you know that..since you don’t. Hope he’s great but it’s a little early to annoint him savior.

          1. The QB who can’t suit up is always better than anyone who currently plays. That said, I hear he is the real deal (that plus $5 will buy you a starbucks coffee)

  3. Fantastic..welcome to Hokie Nation Tyree!!! Can’t wait to see you dance in the End Zone, over and over!
