By now, Norcom (Va.) four-star defensive end Antwaun Powell has seen nearly all he needs to see. With more than two dozen offers, he’s ready to narrow his focus a bit.

Powell said he now has a top five and will soon trim one more school off that list. For now, the five still in play are Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Michigan, Oklahoma and Maryland. With official visits also in place, Powell is taking the steps to make a commitment soon, too.

“I look at what they’re offering me, the colleges that I get, that plan on giving me my number, the type of defense they run,” Powell said. “They showed me how they want to play me. I’ve seen campuses, but I haven’t gotten time to spend with the players and stuff. That’s the reason why I’m going on these visits. I’ve already met most of the coaches, got a good relationship with some of them. I’ll just go from there.”
