Doug Nester represents one of the biggest wins, and one of the hardest fought victories, in Virginia Tech recruiting history.  The 4-star offensive lineman had been committed to Ohio State since August of 2017, but the Hokies stayed on him and managed to flip him from the Buckeyes at the end of the 2019 recruiting cycle.  Penn State and Georgia also wanted him badly in the leadup to Signing Day, but Tech won the battle.
