Quarterbacks notoriously are ahead of many of their other positional counterparts in the speed of their recruitments. Prospects often have made a commitment during or even before their junior seasons.           

Oakleaf (Fla.) 2021 quarterback Walter Simmons III certainly has options. His seven offers include Virginia Tech, LSU, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Central Florida and South Florida. Simmons has made progress in his recruitment, including taking spring visits, but overall, he insists that his recruitment is still relatively young as he checks off ideal characteristics.           

“I’m just looking for who loves me the most, where I can play and where I’m comfortable,” he said. “I don’t want to be too far from home. The furthest I’d like to go would probably be anywhere on this side of the country, so nothing in California or up north.”
