1) How does a new coach basically on campus for a day or two have a road map for key recruiting targets? What goes into making that happen? – hokiehill1117

Chris Coleman: That’s a good question.  I think that depends on the coach, what type of personality he has, and where he comes from.  Buzz Williams coached at high-major level, and though he was not from this region, he was somewhat familiar with the AAU programs in the area already.  He had recruited Davante Gardner and Jamal Ferguson to Marquette out of the 757.  He had the reputation of being a national level recruiter anyway, signing guys from California, Texas, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Georgia, etc.  So Buzz didn’t need any guidance.  He already knew what he was doing.
