Defensive Tackle, Class of 2019
Freedom High School, Woodbridge, VA
6-1, 300

Virginia Tech picked up a commitment from in-state defensive tackle Joshua Fuga on Sunday afternoon.  Fuga decommitted from Temple and committed to the Hokies on his official visit to Blacksburg.

Fuga, who is listed at 6-1, 300, attends Freedom High School in Woodbridge, VA.  He helped his team reach the State Championship Game this year, where they ultimately fell to fellow Virginia Tech commit Will Pritchard and Manchester High School.

Fuga is also listed with offers from UVA and Wake Forest.  He drew recent interest from several other Power 5 schools as well, though none of those schools has offered.  None of them are expected to offer either, as Fuga should sign with the Hokies this coming Wednesday and won’t have time to visit other schools.

Fuga is Tech’s 18th commitment of the 2019 recruiting class, and it’s possible the Hokies could have more commitments between now and Wednesday.  Stay tuned.

  1. So, if Pritchard was on the Oline and Fuga was a DT did they physically meet in the HS playoff?

    Things I think about…and welcome!
