The Hokies are one of just four ranked ACC teams:

  • No. 2 Clemson
  • No. 8 Miami
  • No. 17 Virginia Tech
  • No. 19 Florida State

Also receiving votes in the ACC:

  • Boston College 23 (ranked No. 35)
  • NC State 22 (No. 36)
  • Duke 5 (No. 46)
  • Louisville 3 (No. 48)

The list of coaches voting in the poll includes Virginia Tech’s Justin Fuente, who said in today’s preseason press conference that he did not rank his Hokies, telling them that he wanted them to earn it on the field.  2018 opponent Notre Dame is also included in the preseason poll, coming in at No. 11.

  1. Rather have VT where Clemson is but never want scUM to be ahead of the Hokies and I hope to never see scUM win the conference.
