Mario Kendricks
Defensive Tackle, Class of 2019
Osceola High School, Kissimmee, FL
6-1, 275
Virginia Tech got good news on Saturday afternoon when Kissimmee, FL defensive tackle Mario Kendricks made his verbal commitment to the Hokies. He is the 13th commitment of the 2019 class, and the second defensive tackle, joining fellow Florida defensive tackle Norell Pollard in the class.

Kendricks chose the Hokies over multiple Power 5 offers, including Louisville, NC State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Tennessee Mississippi State, and many others. He is 6-1, 275, and fits the prototypical build of a Virginia Tech defensive tackle recruit.
With Kendricks announcing for Virginia Tech, and Adarious Jones committing to Texas A&M this afternoon, the Hokies could be done with defensive tackle recruiting for the 2019 class. The only other current possibility is D’Von Ellies of Maryland.

Wow, power, quickness, strength all in one package. Going to be great watching him play!
Go Hokies!!!
Reminds you of Daryl Tapp.
And he was an End, supposed to be faster and a bit taller than our typical DT.
Welcome Mario! You will be a great Hokie!
Wow! Very athletic for a big kid. And what a motor!!! Great get for The Fu Crew.
Welcome home Mario… We are thrilled you are a Hokie!! You will be too, more than you even know as yet!!
Both guys from Orlando area. Nice!
OK we got the books and the bookends. Looking forward to the 2020/21 DL with the Tackles and Ends that have come the HOKIE WAY. Bud should have fun with the line, linebackers and DBs entering this and next year.
Mario and Norell welcome into the fold.
GO HOKIES!!!
Now..on to a True RB..
very solid looking player…aggressive, high motor kid with a nose for the ball. As you say, he should become a prototype VT d’tackle…6’1″ and around 300 pounds.
