Last month, Osceola (Fla.) three-star defensive lineman Mario Kendricks named a top seven of Virginia Tech, NC State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Wake Forest, Virginia and Indiana. But after a recent visit, there’s one leading the pack, and a decision is likely not far off.

This past weekend, Kendricks flew to Roanoke to take in his first trip to Virginia Tech. He took in the Hokies’ camp this past weekend and left Tuesday morning with a better sense of where he stands with them.

“I basically did everything,” Kendricks said. “I toured the school, saw the facilities and hung out with the players. They had a camp on the ninth, so I played games with everybody, like dodgeball. I loved it. My favorite part was hanging out with players at The Retreat. They had a pool and it was a nice setup. It was just good hanging out with them.”
