Jaden Payoute Commits To Virginia Tech

Jaden Payoute
Wide Receiver, Class of 2019
LC Bird High School, Chesterfield, VA
6-3, 195

Virginia Tech got good news on Sunday when L.C. Bird (Chesterfield, VA) 2019 wide receiver Jaden Payoute committed to the Hokies.  Payoute received his offer from Tech earlier this week at a satellite camp, visited campus over the weekend, and was quick to make his commitment.

Payoute was the state champion as a junior in the 100m dash at the 5A level, with a time of 10.67 seconds.  He ran for the Tech coaches at the satellite camp this past week, and they were quick to make the offer.  He is a fast rising recruit, picking up offers from the Hokies, Pitt, Illinois, Tennessee and Boston College since June 2.

Virginia Tech’s projected starting mike linebacker, Rayshard Ashby, was a high school teammate of Payoute.  Zohn Burden was his primary recruiter.

Payoute is Virginia Tech’s eighth verbal of the 2019 recruiting class.  He is the fourth prospect from the state of Virginia to commit to the Hokies.

  1. You are going to have to update your rating on this kid before its all over. 42″ vertical and 4.38 forty. Word is he has decent hands, but that is TBD with him playing QB in HS. Can’t have enough big fast athletes though.

    1. When they can run routes and have hands. Speed alone kills only in track and field.

That said, I’m very pleased and happy to welcome another great recruit!

  2. Coach Burden has a bright future, hope Fu is including him in game planning so he will see the benefits of staying in Blacksburg.

  3. gotta say Coach Burden is a busy, busy man – 757, ncacolackie, dc/md, and now RVA. if he wasn’t a person, i’d say he’s a recruiting machine. thanks Coach Z!

(and maybe a raise is in order – his recent wasn’t all that large; imho)

    Go Hokies!
