Camp season has begun.  The Hokies hosted their first on-campus event this past weekend, and then traveled to Randolph-Macon for a satellite camp during the week.  A couple of new offers to offensive players have been extended.  We’ll talk about them, as well as the rest of the major offensive targets, in today’s update.

Quarterback

If the Hokies do take a quarterback in the 2019 class, it will be somebody who isn’t currently on the target board.  Because of the youth already in the program at this position, Justin Fuente and Brad Cornelsen can afford to be picky.  We’ll update you if anything new comes up, but for now nothing major appears to be happening here.

Running Back

Devyn Ford’s decision to commit to Penn State reset Virginia Tech’s running back board.  Here’s a refresher on VT’s main targets as of right now…

Jordan Houston: The Maryland native grew up in a family of Penn State fans, yet he doesn’t mention the Nittany Lions very often these days.  I’m not sure if that’s because PSU isn’t recruiting him hard, of if, unlike Ford, he sees that there are too many roosters in the running back hen house in State College.  Tech is considered the favorite, and the staff will try hard to get him back on campus this summer, hopefully for the Blacksburg Bash in July.  He is a versatile player who could also be used as a wide receiver.
