For months, Fairmont (NC) 2019 three-star wide receiver Jordan Waters waited for schools to come calling. So far, three offers have come, from East Carolina, Duke and Wake Forest.

Nearly two weeks ago, Waters (6-foot-1, 192 pounds) thought he might be done. While he didn’t go through with the commitment, Waters said he realized what he needs to do going forward with his recruitment. Part of that includes more visits, a few of which are coming.

“I was going to make a decision last Sunday on my grandma’s birthday,” Waters said. “But I talked about it with my parents and we decided it was too early. But I like all the schools. I’m really just waiting on offers, to weigh my choices. I still have visits coming up, so my mom told me to go make those visits, then I’ll make a decision.”

After deciding to stay open, Waters visited for Virginia Tech’s second junior day of the year last weekend. The trip, overdue in Waters’ mind, was his first to Blacksburg.
