Class of 2019 Linebacker Kane Patterson Planning More Visits After Recent Offers

In the past year, Christ Presbyterian Academy (Tenn.) linebacker Kane Patterson has visited tons of schools that have recruited him. Now at 20 offers, most recently from Virginia Tech, Texas A&M and Kentucky, Patterson wanted to get a feel for what’s out there. He saw games at schools like Ohio State, Alabama and Notre Dame.

For Patterson (5-foot-11, 212 pounds), Rivals’ No. 15 inside linebacker for 2019, the myriad of stops doesn’t necessarily mean he’s closer to deciding. But more visits are coming, as he tries to get a better feel for which schools stand out to him. Patterson is heeding his father’s advice and taking his time with his recruitment.

“It’s like getting married,” Patterson said. “You’ve got to see what you like and see what you don’t. That’s what my dad always tells me. You don’t want to decide after three weeks of knowing some girl. That’s usually a disaster.”

On Wednesday, Patterson visited Duke. He spent all day on campus and attended the Blue Devils’ basketball game that night against Virginia Tech.
