When his recruitment really got underway before his junior season, St. Joseph’s (NJ) four-star defensive end Howard Cross had an idea of the traits his ideal school would possess. It would include a good business program, highly-ranked academics and of course, a competitive football team.
As the offers have piled up, Cross (6-foot-2, 240 pounds) hasn’t deviated from that original plan. Now at a dozen offers, most recently from Pittsburgh, Minnesota and Northwestern, he is still mulling over his options. But as Cross takes more visits, he could get closer to making a decision.
“It’s still the same thing, just good academics and a pretty good football school,” Cross said. “As long as it’s a good school, I don’t care where it is.”
To this point, the only visit Cross has made was last month for Virginia Tech’s junior day, and he the Hokies impressed.
