Effort and Defense Go Hand-in-Hand for Virginia Tech Men’s Basketball

Buzz Williams publicly called out his team’s effort level after Saturday’s home loss to Miami.  It was the third time this season that the Hokies have come out flat in a big home game, and it’s cost them two ACC games.  They likely wouldn’t have beaten UVA even with a good performance, but they likely would have knocked off Florida State and Miami.

Here are the projected end-of-season numbers right now…

Overall: 19-12
ACC: 8-10
RPI: No. 67
SOS: No. 50

Those numbers represent a big, fat ticket to the Not Invited Tournament (NIT).
