Becton is a 6-foot-4, 248-pound prospect out of Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach, Va. Becton is consensus three-star recruit, and holds 20 scholarship offers. Some of the most notable schools to offer Becton were Georgia, Maryland, NC State, Nebraska, Oregon, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Virginia Tech’s Class of 2018 is now comprised of 24 members. Twenty-two of them have signed, while Becton and Cam Goode are expected to sign on National Signing Day on Feb. 7. Becton gives Virginia Tech two defensive ends in this class, as he joins three-star prospect Eli Adams.

  1. Was this a “big” pickup for VT recruiting? I had not heard much about VT’s chances, positive or negative, in gaining a commitment from Becton. What is the expectation of Dax Hollifield committing to VT next week? Seems quiet!

  2. Welcome to the best years of your life as a Hokie, Mr. Becton. You have hitched your wagon to a star.

  3. You make a great decision and you will shortly realize that, when you step on campus and being
coached by an outstanding football staff, along with a high academic education institution thrown in
    the mix !
