Throughout his five years in Blacksburg, Wyatt Teller endeared himself to Virginia Tech fans. Whether it was his outgoing personality, his crazy hairstyles or his dominant play, Teller finished his Virginia Tech career this past season as a fan favorite.
And to think, Teller almost played for Virginia Tech’s in-state rival, Virginia.
Yeah, you read that right. Teller, a member of the Class of 2013, was a top-10 high school player in Virginia as a 4-star defensive lineman. Teller was a top-200 player nationally, and held close to 20-25 scholarship offers. The Bealeton, Va. native entertained interest from several Power 5 programs — including Clemson and Michigan — but Virginia and Virginia Tech were always his top schools.
