Bye Week Arrives at Critical Time for Virginia Tech

I want to take you back to the 2010 game at Boston College, a game in which the Hokies won 19-0.  They had future NFL quarterback Tyrod Taylor, future NFL running backs David Wilson and Darren Evans and future NFL wide receivers Jarrett Boykin and Danny Coale.  Despite all that talent, the Hokies only scored 19 points, and finished with just 343 yards of total offense.

Tyrod Taylor had no touchdown passes and an interception, and averaged 1.1 yards per carry.  Darren Evans had 14 carries for 30 yards.  David Wilson had 16 carries for 67 yards, and averaged 4.2 yards per carry, which I suppose made him the “star” offensive performer of the game.

Since that 2010 game, here’s how the other games have gone in Chestnut Hill…

2012: 30-23 win (OT)
2013: 34-27 loss
2015: 26-10 win
