In many ways, Clayton (NC) 2019 four-star defensive end Savion Jackson is keeping an open mind with his recruitment. But while he hasn’t dived in, there are already a few make or break factors.

Jackson is up to 12 offers, most recently from Florida, Virginia, East Carolina and Penn State. Virginia Tech offered at the end of March, while South Carolina was first to offer in February.

There have been a few visits so far, as Jackson is already getting a good idea of what stands out to him and what does not. Any decision, or even cuts to his list, however, are still some distance away.

“I don’t want to be that far away,” Jackson said. “It doesn’t have to be 30 minutes, just not a great amount away. Then, just a good atmosphere, connection with the coaches and a school that football is important to the culture there. The tradition there would be big and how the campus looks and stuff. Plus, playing time and the depth chart.”
