Virginia Tech has recruited Nadir Thompson for a long time, and it finally paid off on Thursday, as Thompson announced his commitment to the Hokies while on a visit to the school.

Thompson is a 5-foot-10, 165-pound athlete from Spring Hope, N.C. Thompson is rated as a 3-star recruit by Rivals and holds offers from Virginia, Duke, Wake Forest, NC State and others. Thompson was originally committed to NC State, but officially reopened his recruitment on April 22.
Virginia Tech has recruited Thompson as a defensive back, but he is versatile enough to get a look as a slot receiver if the coaches choose to do so. The Hokies already held four commitments from defensive backs and with Thompson committed, there may not be many spots left.
