Virginia Tech took three defensive ends in the Class of 2017, and it would shock no one if the Hokies take just one, or maybe two ends in the Class of 2018. Because of that, there’s only a few ends that have caught Virginia Tech’s eye. One of those? John Morgan.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound end from DeMatha High School in Maryland is on the radar of several schools. Morgan has nine reported scholarship offers to this point, but Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Penn State, Maryland and Rutgers have been the schools recruiting him the hardest. The 3-star defensive end visited all of those schools in the spring and enjoyed all of his visits.

When it comes to Virginia Tech, Wide Receivers Coach Holmon Wiggins is Morgan’s primary recruiter, but Morgan likes the coaching pedigrees of Defensive Line Coach Charley Wiles and Head Coach Justin Fuente, too.

“It was great, I really like it down at Virginia Tech,” Morgan said. “It’s something most kids have to go down and experience. Coach (Charley) Wiles and Coach (Justin) Fuente are two guys that I’d probably say are two of the best in the country. You just can’t meet two guys like that that work so, so well together.”
