Darrisaw is a 6-foot-5, 290-pound lineman from Upper Marlboro, MD. Darrisaw had just four scholarship offers, with Virginia Tech being his only Power 5 offer. He is currently unranked by 247Sports.

Virginia Tech now has three offensive lineman who will enroll next year. Darrisaw will join Fork Union transfer Silas Dzansi and Aiden Brown. The Hokies are likely still targeting a few other linemen, including Tyran Hunt and Mekhi Becton.

Here are Darrisaw’s mid-season highlights from his senior year.

  1. welcome Mr. Darrisaw!

this Hokie has big upper body strength and appears to move quite well for 290lbs.
would he be worth trying at TE or H back for designed plays occasionally?

    Go Hokies!

  2. It must be difficult for a coaching staff to confidently evaluate the potential of an O-Lineman in HS. I recall watching the HS highlights of Braxton Pfaff, and they were outstanding. He was aggressive and held his blocks. Drove his target 10 yards downfield, into the end zone. However, he can’t seem to get much playing time at VT, even though we are sorely lacking in OL talent. I cringe each game watching several of our OL who make initial contact with their target, but do not hold their blocks long enough, and their target tackles the RB.

BTW, did you notice that GT played 3 true freshmen at OL, and they blocked extremely well; trapping, cross-blocking, holding blocks, and getting to the second level.

    1. But you know freshman OL players have to be in the system for a couple of years before they are ready. That is what we have been told for years.
