Tahj Capehart’s commitment on Saturday was arguably the biggest commitment for Virginia Tech in the Class of 2017 so far.

He’s a unanimous 4-star recruit and comes from a region that Virginia Tech used to have a lot of success in – the 757 area of Virginia.

Chris Scott, who has been Capehart’s coach at Ocean Lakes, will also coach him at Bishop Sullivan this year as well. He says that Capehart’s speed stands out the most.

“He’s fast, whether it’s on offense or defense,” Scott said. “That can be utilized in so many different ways, whether it’s handing the ball off to him on a jet sweep out of the receiver position or getting the ball out to him so he can beat a guy 1-on-1. His speed allows him to be able to cover anybody and also beat coverages.”
