Yesterday, wrestling recruit Cole Manley took to twitter to announce his verbal commitment to Virginia Tech, joining the Class of 2017.

Manley, a highly ranked 126-pounder from Altoona, PA., checks in at No. 72/No. 77 nationally (Flowrestling/Intermat) and looks to be a strong future option for Virginia Tech at the 133-pound weight class. He joins John Borst and Hunter Bolen in the Class of 2017, and thus far each wrestler remains a top-100 recruit.
Manley also belongs to the Young Guns Wrestling Club, a Pittsburgh based wrestling club which produces NCAA All-Americans in almost every recruiting class. The Hokies most recent Young Gun recruit was Zack Zavatsky, who went on to claim his first ACC Championship as a freshman last season. Coach Kevin Dresser and Co. continue to recruit well and Manley looks to be an exciting future anchor to the Tech wrestling program.

I met the coach of the Young Guns Wrestling Club briefly while in NYC last year (Jody Strittmatter). Nice guy. That’s a hell of a club to have an “in” with. I’ll see if I can get some more info but my buddy from that area says this kid is really GOOD.
