Harry Lewis to Transfer From Virginia Tech

Harry Lewis, a redshirt freshman defensive tackle, will be transferring this summer, according to a Virginia Tech spokesman.

The Roanoke Times’ Andy Bitter was first to report Lewis’ transfer.

Lewis, originally a 3-star recruit from Hampton, VA., seemed to be buried on the depth chart at defensive tackle. Woody Baron and Nigel Williams, both seniors, are likely the starters while redshirt sophomores Ricky Walker and Steve Sobczak, as well as redshirt freshman Tim Settle are fighting for playing time.

Lewis is the second Virginia Tech player to transfer this offseason. Linebacker Carson Lydon will be transferring as well before the season.

  1. such a fine young man. heard him speak to HCS School Board and bring an actual devotion from Bible for their meeting – well done.

so he’s lost one year red-shirt – 4 eligible left to play; doesn’t see much action this 2016 season unless (God please pare us) injuries hit middle DL; seems like after two years of practice he would be next up on depth chart to earn starter.

is he that impatient? … or something else? … puzzled

    i wish him the best.
perferably he doesn’t show up at f$u, bama, p$u, one of our future opponents.

    Go Hokies!

    1. We have young but very good talent at DT and he probably felt he could contribute quicker elsewhere. Barring injury, he wasn’t going to crack the starting lineup until his senior year had he stayed.
