Jamie Pinzino Hired as Associate Head Coach For Virginia Tech Baseball

Virginia Tech hired Jamie Pinzino to the baseball staff on Wednesday as an Associate Head Coach.

Pinzino, who has 15 years of coaching experience, was previously the pitching coach at Oklahoma under former Virginia Tech head coach Pete Hughes. Prior to that, Pinzino was the head coach at William and Mary, where the team won 39 games in the 2013 season. He was named the VASID Coach of the Year after that season.

Pinzino’s prior jobs include working as an assistant at both William and Mary in 2012 as well as Northeastern in 2011. Pinzino was also the head coach at Bryant from 2006-2010, where he went 162-122 with two NCAA Regional appearances.  He has an overall head coaching record of 212-174 with three NCAA Regional appearances.

Pinzino played four seasons for Tufts University and was a part of three ECAC Championship teams.  He replaces pitching coach Rob Woodard on the Tech staff.  Woodard resigned following the 2016 season.
