Devon Hunter, a 4-star safety from Chesapeake, Va., released his top 11 schools on Twitter on Friday through a video.

Hunter, who is the top prospect in the state according to our very own Chris Coleman, attended Junior Day at Virginia Tech.

Hunter intercepted three passes last season for Indian River High School, registering 91 tackles, 11 pass breakups, a forced fumble and two defensive touchdowns. Here are his junior year highlights.

  1. WOW ! The schools involved in this kids recruitment are ALL FOOTBALL SCHOOLS, except ONE !!!

  2. 4 SEC ; 3.5 ACC ; 3 BIG10. No Fla St. And we’re in the mix. It’s worth watching this one because this could be Fuente’s Cornell Brown.

  3. Uh, folks, I think you can look at the picture and figure out who the 11 are without watching the video.

  4. Why even release a top 11. Makes no sense. Hope we get the kid, we’re the favorites for a while but we know how this story ends? But a top 11 what’s that like 1/3 of his offers??

  5. Really glad Hokie fans are not subjected to or relied on for winning the recruiting wars. Unfortunately, this is the world we (and these recruits) live in and why would it change. So much attention is paid to their lists, their impressions of visits and when they will let the world know where they will end up playing college football. I am happy that our new staff seems to understand the process and is diving in…head first. Because of that, we all have hope for a turn-around…which depends greatly on these kids and their process of choosing their partner.

My suggestion would be to embrace it because it’s not going to change.

  6. Guess this is what passes for journalism these days? Put up a headline about 11 choices but don’t bother to say what they are. Just link to someones else’s video? Not worth bothering with.

  7. My guess is we finish 2nd or 3rd. Just like all of the big time recruits we’ve finished 2nd with the last few yrs. Hopefully things will improve over the next few yrs.

  8. Instead of watching the video I would rather have read the list in about three seconds.

  9. Critical recruit that we need to get back to winning more recruiting battles in teh 757, but I am SICK of the whole HS players turning the whole process with a spectacle by revealing their top 20, top 10, top 5, top 3….I am all for showmanship and was okay with the pulling the hat off a table on signing day but this is getting way out of hand.

    1. Hey I want to see him pull a rabbit out of a hat, or make a mascot disappear and reappear or something. Now that would check my box for showmanship.
