  1. If football gets 9 or 10 wins it will be big. more than 10 will be crazy good.
Bball need 20 wins and ncaas to impress over 8 wins in football. The good thing is both have good shots to meets these goals.. We are on the right track.

  2. I NEVER pick “I Don’t Know/No Opinion” in any poll, but for this one, I had to. I kept going back and forth between Football and Basketball. With the uncertainty at QB and LB, football is such an unknown this year. The RATT in me says we can’t do much better than we did last season. We eked out a few tight wins to get where we got. We could’ve easily lost a number of those one-possession games. We might lose some of those this year and I feel like the karma of all the hype is going to lead to at least one meta-tarsal debacle. So, my vote is truly an I Don’t Know.

  3. I feel a 1 or 2 game improvement in the football win total is worth more than a 1 or 2 game improvement in basketball wins. IMO It will be hard to improve allot on the basketball wins unless we make a run in the ACC tournament and/or NIT or NCAA’s.

  4. Basketball is building, as in from scratch starting a few years ago. Football is RE-building yet has maintained the bowl streak (agree there is a low standard of making a bowl). I’ll take re-building over building anytime.

  5. more motivation:
football team can officially carry a chip on their collective shoulders
all season to disprove this poll result, since we have relegated them
to #3 behind basketball and wrestling. (yup: should’a been a 3 sport poll.)

    Go Hokies!

  6. Which is better? FB winning 9-10 games including Bowl game or BB winning 20+ coming in top 1/2 of ACC and making NCAA Tourney as a 9 seed losing to the #1 seed in Round 2?
