Even with Virginia Tech undergoing a coaching change, Sam Denmark never wavered from his commitment to the Hokies. This week, the soon-to-be Hanahan High School (S.C.) graduate heard from his future head coach, Justin Fuente. The conversation made him even more excited about his future in the orange and maroon.

“I have spoken to Coach Fuente. I was very impressed how quickly he personally reached out to the recruits,” Denmark wrote in a Twitter direct message. “He said to me that he runs the spread offense and that I should fit in very well because he liked what he saw.”

New Virginia Tech assistant, Holmon Wiggins, spoke with Denmark as well. Wiggins served as wide receivers coach at Memphis and presumably will fill the same role at Tech.

“[Wiggins] said that he was glad that I was an early enrollee. He expects a lot out of me and has high expectations,” Denmark wrote.
