Last year, Virginia Tech signed an entire starting offense. This year, they potentially signed an entire starting defense.

The Hokies signed 3-5 defensive tackles (depending on Yosua Nijman and Darius Fullwood), they signed 2-5 defensive ends (depending on Nijman, Fullwood and Tremaine Edmunds), they signed 1-2 linebackers (depending on Tremaine Edmunds) and they signed five defensive backs. There is a lot of versatility in the class.

Defensive line was the obvious focus, and though the Hokies struck out on a lot of their top defensive end targets, they also landed some quality prospects at end, and I trust Charley Wiles and Bud Foster to coach them up. The secondary was also a focus, as Tech (and most teams) play five defensive backs most of the time.
