Virginia Tech looks to rebound from two straight losses with a win over Boston College. There would be no better time to get back on the winning track, especially with an impressive group of senior recruits expected to visit this weekend.
Calvert Hall (Towson, MD) wide receiver Lawrence Cager, West Forsyth (N.C.) defensive end Jalen Dalton, Hillside (Durham, N.C.) offensive tackle Emanuel McGirt and Hopewell (VA) defensive end Darrell Taylor are set to make official visits this weekend. Nash Central (Rocky Mount, N.C.) defensive end Houshun Gaines tweeted that he plans to be at Tech on Saturday as well, but his visit will be unofficial.
Virginia Tech is the first official visit destination for Cager, who attended the Hokies’ one-day camp this past July. His 6’5” frame would complement Tech’s dynamic freshman duo of Isaiah Ford and Cam Phillips nicely. The competition is set, as are the rest of Cager’s official visits. He plans to take officials to Wake Forest (November 21), Ohio State (November 28), Notre Dame (December 5) and Alabama (December 12).
Ohio State was the early favorite for Cager, but certainly Tech has a chance to impress this weekend.
