I’ve seen words like “deep” and “loaded” being used on the message boards to describe Virginia Tech’s running back situation. In the words of Lee Corso, not so fast my friend. There is no proven workhorse back, and injuries and a transfer are cutting into the depth.
Here’s a quick summary:
Trey Edmunds (r-So.): Though Edmunds has been cleared to practice full speed, according to head trainer Mike Goforth, Edmunds is “still working his way back from a broken leg suffered in the Virginia game eight months ago and back into football-specific movements.” In other words, he’s not going to be the same guy right away, and nobody knows how long it will take him to get back to where he was towards the end of 2013.
