Buzz Williams’ first high school stop as Virginia Tech head coach caught the attention of a certain class of 2015 point guard prospect.
“Coach Buzz’ first visit was to St. James when he got the job at Virginia Tech, so that was nice,” said 6’1”, 175-pound Justin Robinson, a 3-star recruit (Rivals and Scout) who led St. James (Hagerstown, MD) to a 22-5 overall record in the 2013/2014 season.
Of Williams and the rest of the new Tech men’s basketball coaching staff, Robinson said: “They are a great coaching staff on and off the court. They motivate you every time you talk to them, so it’s just a great relationship.”
There is quite a bit of competition for Robinson. In addition to Tech, he has received scholarship offers from George Washington, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Memphis, ODU, Penn State, Providence, St. Joseph’s, Temple and UNLV.
