Under Armour All-American Center Visits VT

Brian Chaffin has enjoyed success on the gridiron the past two seasons, as he has helped Charlotte Christian (Charlotte, N.C.) to back-to-back NCISAA state championships. The 6’2”, 280-pound rising senior is now enjoying success on the recruiting front, having received scholarship offers from major FBS schools including Virginia Tech. He has also been selected to play in the 2015 Under Armour All-American Bowl.

“That was awesome,” Chaffin said of the Under Armour invite. “I was kind of surprised when they called. I didn’t think they gave out invitations until later. I was fired up. I committed to the game on the spot. I’m happy about the opportunity.”

Chaffin played offensive tackle his sophomore season before moving to center this past season as a junior. He excelled at center, which is the position most schools are recruiting him to play.

“I love watching film and breaking stuff down. I enjoyed [making calls at the line],” Chaffin said, discussing his transition from tackle to center. “There were technical things I had to learn, but I was fortunate to learn a lot in the summer. After the first two games, I felt really comfortable.”
