The Latest On Isaiah Ford

In this final full month before National Signing Day for the class of 2014, wide receiver Isaiah Ford has reemerged as a legitimate target for Virginia Tech. Trinity Christian Academy (Jacksonville, FL) assistant coach Gerard Ross, who handles football recruiting for the school, updated the latest on the 6’2”, 180-pound senior.

“It’s actually a top five list as of the last time I talked to him,” Ross answered when asked if Ford was down to two schools (Louisville and Virginia Tech), as other sites have reported. “As of right now it is Louisville, Virginia Tech, Miami, Florida and South Florida.”

While no visits are currently scheduled for this coming weekend, it appears Ford may wait until February 5 to make his college choice. Coach Ross didn’t rule out the possibility of a decision coming sooner, though.

“At this point he’s going to wait until Signing Day to make a decision,” Ross said. “He’s still iffy about some things. I told him to not rush it and to pray over it with his family. If while he’s waiting anything pops in his mind, he can call whoever and make a commitment.”
