Coach Provides Latest On Nnadi

4-star defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi made his way to Virginia Tech this past weekend for a much-anticipated official visit. TSL caught up with Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) head coach Chris Scott, who exchanged text messages with the 6’2”, 300-pound senior in the hours following the Tech official that began last Friday and ended yesterday.

“He didn’t text a whole lot. He said he had a good time,” Scott said. “He had a great time with the players.”

Nnadi now faces a busy week of meetings with coaches. According to Scott, Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher will be in-home on Tuesday followed by Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer on Wednesday. Virginia head coach Mike London and assistant Chip West are expected by as well, though Scott wasn’t sure when.

Nnadi made official visits to Florida State and Penn State in December and has now taken official visits to Ohio State and Virginia Tech in January. As of last night, an official visit to UVa is still scheduled for this coming weekend. The Cavaliers have been on the outside looking in for the past few months or so, and Scott says nothing has changed in that regard. Where do the other four schools stand?
