Mihota Hoping To Return Soon

When Massaponax (Fredericksburg, VA) senior and Virginia Tech recruit Vinny Mihota suffered a broken bone in his left foot during a win over Albemarle, the initial thinking was that he would return to action in two to four weeks. Five games later, the 6’4″, 250-pound defensive end prospect remains sidelined but is hopeful he will be able to return to the field before the regular season is over.

“It’s coming along but not where I’d like it to be at this point,” Mihota said of his injury. “It should be another week or two.”

There is not much Mihota can do to speed up the rehabilitation process. Rest is the primary course of action, and at night he treats the injury with a bone stimulator. The good news is that the Panthers are undefeated at 7-0 heading into this week’s matchup against Stafford.

“Things are going good for the team,” Mihota said. “We just beat one of the toughest opponents of the season. There are three more regular season games left. I hope to come back for at least one.”
