Tremaine Edmunds Talks Football, Recruiting

Whether he is playing linebacker, tight end or wide receiver, 6’4″, 215-pound junior Tremaine Edmunds likes to play a physical brand of football.  The Dan River (Ringgold, VA) product plays with emotion as well, just like one of his football idols.

“Ray Lewis is a big influence on me,” Edmunds said.  “He’s very inspirational on the field.  I look up to him a lot, so when I’m out there he is one player who comes to my mind.  In football, you have to have energy out there.  You have to.  I think I’ve always been physical.  Ever since little league, I’ve played physical.  I’ve been a linebacker ever since then.  I’m not scared to hit.”

Edmunds is the youngest in a family of talented football players.  His father, Ferrell, starred at tight end at the University of Maryland before moving on to a successful NFL career.  Older brother Trey is a red-shirt freshman tailback at Virginia Tech, while Terrell, who is a senior at Dan River, has accepted a scholarship to play football at Virginia Tech.

Tremaine has certainly learned a lot from his father, who is Dan River’s head coach, but he has also learned from his brothers.
