Shooting guard Justin Bibbs, who on Monday announced that he had verbally committed to Virginia Tech, is happy to have the recruiting process behind him so he can focus on his senior season at Montverde Academy (Montverde, FL).

“Man, it feels amazing just knowing where I’m going to school,” Bibbs said in a phone interview with TSL last night.  “It’s a load off my shoulders.”

Bibbs also considered offers from Cincinnati, Dayton, Iowa, Minnesota, and Xavier.  The 6’5″, 190-pound prospect’s decision ultimately came down to two.

“Virginia Tech and Xavier were the two frontrunners,” said Bibbs, who is actually a native of Dayton (OH).  “I had to do a lot of thinking on what I want to do.  It was really hard, but I had to sleep on it and talk to my mom and dad.  I had to write everything out, write down what I liked about Xavier and what I liked about Virginia Tech.  Finally, Virginia Tech became the choice.”
