Sophomore DT Lands 3 Major Offers

Thomas Dale (Chester, VA) class of 2015 defensive tackle Darvin Taylor II  arrived at school yesterday still waiting for his first major college scholarship offer.  This morning, the 6’4″, 290-pound prospect heads to school boasting offers from Florida State, Miami, and Virginia Tech.

“Everybody I’ve talked to is happy for me,” Taylor II said.  “They are all telling me to stay humble.  It’s going to be a fun process, but I have to stay humble and stay hungry.  I just want to give all the glory to God.”

Of the schools that offered on Thursday, he said:  “I like all of them.”

Taylor II started a few games on the varsity level his freshman season before becoming a full-time starter on the varsity as a sophomore in 2012.  He was a full-time defensive player, seeing action at defensive end when Dale ran a 3-man defensive front and defensive tackle when the Knights went to a 4-man front.  He played some tight end as well.
