St. Christopher’s (Richmond, VA) sophomore cornerback Garrett Taylor boasts nine major scholarship offers, including Clemson, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Penn State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.  The 6’1″, 190-pound prospect has visited four of these schools, most recently heading down to Blacksburg last Saturday for Virginia Tech’s Prospect Day.

“I was very impressed throughout the day,” Taylor wrote in a Facebook interview.  “The coaching staff had a lot of energy and sent a really good message, especially with the tradition of a great defense, which definitely caught my attention.”

According to Taylor, the coaches emphasized “first that academics were the most important.”

Football-wise, “they expect a lot from their players in order to keep the great tradition of the football program and defense going,” Taylor wrote.
