Catching Up With Kyle Chung

The next time Kyle Chung takes the football field, he will be donning the orange and maroon of Virginia Tech, following in the footsteps of his father, Eugene, who played offensive tackle for the Hokies from 1988-1991.  The 6’4″, 260-pound Ponte Vedra (FL) senior offensive guard is excited to make his college intentions official by signing a letter of intent on February 6.

Kyle Chung with primary recruiter Charley Wiles at Virginia Tech’s July 14 Camp.

“Signing Day is going to be a special day,” said Chung, who verbally committed to Tech on July 14 over offers from Clemson, Maryland, Miami, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and many more.

For Chung, the hardest part about moving on from Ponte Vedra to Blacksburg is being away from his friends and family.

“It’s bittersweet now,” Chung said.  “I’m sad to be leaving the guys I’ve known since I was young, but I’m still excited about the future.”
