Charles Clark Jr., was a 4-year starter on the King’s Fork (Suffolk, VA) varsity football squad.  He enjoyed individual success his first three years, including the honor of being named the Southeastern District Defensive Player of the Year as a junior in 2011, but the Bulldogs amassed only eight wins to 22 losses in that time.

Clark and company turned things around in 2012.  The Bulldogs finished with a 7-4 record and made the playoffs.  The season almost included a playoff win, but the Bulldogs lost to Lakeland, 16-15, on a touchdown with less than a minute left.  Clark amassed 57 tackles, four interceptions (three of which he returned for a touchdown), and one forced fumble, earning the honor of Southeastern District Defensive Player of the Year for the second year in a row.  He was first-team all-district at defensive back and punt return.

As punt returner, Clark averaged 31 yards per return in six tries.  He scored one touchdown.  Clark had his moments on offense as well.  The second-team all-district running back started the season with 141 yards rushing and three scores in a 21-14 win over Booker T. Washington and ended it with 121 yards rushing against Lakeland.

A busy student-athlete, Clark is focusing on the classroom, where he carries a 3.4 GPA.  He took some time recently, though, to answer some questions over Facebook.
