It’s Hampton (VA) versus Phoebus once again. Phoebus won the regular season match-up less than two weeks ago, coming away with a 35-21 win. Hampton would love to avenge the recent loss this week, with a berth in the Division 5, Eastern Region finals on the line.
Virginia Tech-bound athlete Deon Newsome , the Crabbers’ starting quarterback and outside linebacker, is ready.
“I can’t wait to play, to see what happens,” Newsome said.
Newsome’s availability seemed in question, at least for a bit, when he went down with a dislocated kneecap in the third quarter of the regular season finale against Phoebus. Fortunately, the 5’11”, 175-pound senior did not miss any significant action.
