The Virginia Tech men’s basketball program has scored its second verbal commitment in the class of 2013.  Hargrave Military Academy (Chatham, VA) senior guard Donte Clark  is Tech’s latest commitment, pledging to head coach James Johnson while in Blacksburg this past weekend.

Clark, a 6’4″ guard, felt comfortable with the Hokies’ first year head coach.

“I pretty much knew going in I was going to commit,” said Clark, who was at Tech on an official visit from Friday through Sunday.  “I knew Coach Johnson before he became head coach.  He always had a different approach.  Most coaches kind of push you, but he was more calm about everything.”

Johnson “was definitely excited” by the decision, Clark said with a laugh.
