Thomas Dale (Chester, VA) standout DJ Reid was seemingly well on his way towards making his college choice by the end of the summer.  A summer commitment could still happen, though there is now a real possibility the 6’0″, 215-pound rising senior athlete takes his decision-making process into the fall.

“DJ had some visits pushed back,” Knights head coach Kevin Tucker said.  “He hopes to make some visits soon.  I hope he can.”

Virginia Tech and South Florida have been the leaders for the entire summer.  Has anything changed?

“It’s still Tech and South Florida, but he is keeping his options open,” Tucker answered.  “UVa is still in the mix a little bit, but I think South Florida and Virginia Tech are the top two for sure.  I think DJ is just more comfortable with the coaches at those places.  (South Florida) Coach [Joe] Sloan (a former Thomas Dale standout) and Coach [Shane] Beamer, they’ve both done a great job recruiting him.”
